Although Enter Shikari is moving slightly further away from our selected choice of genre due to the simplicity of this advert, I have chosen it as one of my three to analyse. This advert is an exact copy of the Common Dreads album art work with a few additional features which make the piece work well. Once again the font is positioned either side of the images, located at the top and bottom sectors of the advert. The recognisable trademark font that Enter Shikari make use of throughout their promotion features on the top of the advert. This is once again making the band themselves immediately identifiable. This seems to be a common convention of the magazine adverts. Although I will be using a much more simplistic font on my own piece, the font itself is very busy and has a slightly 'artistic' feel this is then levelled out but the non cluttered and minimalistic overall appearance of the ad.
The green and red colour scheme is not something we would usually expect to find. Although, this works well as the colours have been used very subtly which once again keeps the piece looking simple but effective. In addition the 'cracked' 'worn' effect that we can see on the background behind the image creates the idea of the music being 'broken' or slightly 'dirty' and this is something that Enter Shikari have been said to describe their music as before.
Underneath the image, the date has been subtly added in a scroll like font. By just using the numbers, it emphasise the importance of the date itself. The numbers give a dramatic emphasis on the piece as if it is a date to remember, even though the font itself contacts this and is not something that particularly calls out on the page.
Lastly, something that I think is great and works very well is the small footed 'slogan' that they have added to the bottom of the advert which creates the idea of a 'finishing touch'. By adding the bands slogan, which are also song lyrics 'The Lions Are At The Door' makes the ad even more personal to the band, and also to the audience as only Shikari fans would understand this. I like the idea of adding a personal touch to the advert, such as a slogan or maybe a band logo/image that they often use as a trademark.
